01 /The Challenge

CQ Computing Solutions is the company behind Echo Technology, which meant this build carried a slightly different pressure than a typical client project: designing for an audience (managed-IT clients across Central Queensland) that the studio understands from the inside, and needed to prove that understanding rather than assume it. Small-business owners in this category are used to IT companies overselling and underdelivering; a website that read as generic or salesy would undercut the actual pitch before a single support ticket was raised.

The other constraint was geographic honesty: CQ Computing genuinely operates from Emerald, servicing towns across the Central Highlands, so the site's regional framing had to be accurate rather than aspirational: it couldn't imply a footprint bigger than the real one. The business also markets itself on a set of operational promises (fixed monthly billing, no surprise invoices, remote-first resolution before any drive is scheduled) that only work as trust signals if the site presents them plainly. Overselling those same promises with heavy design flourish would have undercut the "no surprises" pitch on the page meant to prove it, which ruled out most of the usual IT-company website playbook of stock photography and jargon-heavy service tiers.

02 /Our Approach

Echo Technology built the site with a clean, technical visual language (monospace accents, structured grids, a muted palette), the same restraint the business itself uses in describing fixed monthly plans and scheduled onsite visits rather than open-ended hourly billing.

Content is structured around specific, checkable claims rather than generic reassurance copy (the towns actually serviced, the year the business started, the base location) because for an IT company website, specificity reads as more trustworthy than a broad "we cover all of Queensland" claim would.

Micro-interactions throughout stay deliberately subtle (no flourish for its own sake) so the service detail carries the page rather than being decorated around. Scheduling and onboarding content is written for a small-business owner reading between meetings, not for an IT buyer with time to compare feature matrices.

03 /Design Notes

Monospace type accents and a structured grid give the site a technical, near engineering-documentation feel that suits a company selling clarity and process over hype. A muted palette keeps attention on the service detail rather than the decoration around it.

Where FitDad and MCC Group use bold motion to create momentum, CQ Computing's site does the opposite on purpose: confidence through restraint, matching the tone the business itself takes with clients.

04 /Tech Stack

  • Next.js
  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Vercel

05 /The Outcome

The finished site gives CQ Computing Solutions a website that matches the understated, checkable-claims approach the business takes with its actual IT clients, rather than a generic "your trusted local IT partner" template.

It's also a small, telling example of web design for a Central Queensland business built on specifics (the towns actually serviced, the year founded, where it's based) rather than broad reassurance copy, and a live instance of Echo Technology building for a business it knows from the inside rather than a client relationship it's still learning.
