Hosting for the Websites and Software We Build

Hosting is infrastructure, not an afterthought: the difference between a website that loads in under a second with automatic SSL and global CDN coverage, and one that times out the moment a careers page gets a traffic spike. Echo Technology hosts what we build on Cloudflare Pages, Workers and R2, or Vercel, depending on which fits the project, performance-optimised from day one, not bolted on after launch.

To be direct about scope: this is hosting and deployment for the websites, web applications and software Echo Technology builds, not day-to-day IT support. If you need help desk support, device management, or general business IT, that's the domain of our sister business, CQ Computing Solutions, which handles managed IT services for Central Queensland businesses. This page is specifically about where your web product lives and how it performs.

Cloudflare and Vercel both give us edge deployment, automatic SSL, and a CDN that serves your site from a location close to whoever's visiting: a genuine speed advantage over a single traditional server, especially for visitors outside the capital cities.

01 /Who It's For

This is for anyone whose website or web application we've built (or are building) and needs it hosted somewhere fast, secure and properly configured: SSL certificates that renew themselves, a CDN that doesn't need manual cache-clearing, and deployment that doesn't involve FTP-ing files to a shared server.

It also suits businesses currently on slow or unreliable hosting who want their existing site migrated onto modern infrastructure without a full rebuild, where that's feasible, and businesses further outside the capital cities who feel the latency of a single distant server more than most, since a CDN edge node close by matters even more when the alternative is a long round trip to a data centre interstate.

02 /What You Get

  • Hosting on Cloudflare Pages/Workers/R2 or Vercel, chosen based on what the project actually needs
  • Automatic SSL/TLS certificates: no manual renewal, no expired-certificate warnings
  • CDN distribution so pages load fast regardless of where in Australia (or beyond) a visitor is
  • Domain and DNS configuration, including migration from existing registrars where needed
  • Staging environments so changes can be tested before they go live on the real site
  • Performance monitoring so we know about a problem before your customers do
  • Automated deployments from code changes straight through to production
  • Backups and rollback capability in case a deployment needs to be undone

03 /How We Work

Discovery establishes what the project actually needs (traffic patterns, budget, whether it's a static site or something with a server-side component) because Cloudflare and Vercel suit different shapes of project. Design here means architecture: how the deployment pipeline, staging environment and domain setup will work before launch. Build sets up the actual infrastructure alongside the website or application build, not as a separate afterthought once the code is finished. Launch is the cutover: DNS, SSL, redirects and a monitored go-live window. Support means ongoing monitoring and being the point of contact if hosting-side performance or uptime becomes a problem, which is different work to the IT support CQ Computing Solutions provides.

04 /Common Questions

Is this the same as IT support for my business?+

No. This is specifically hosting and deployment for websites and web applications, not general IT support, help desk, or device management. If you need that broader support, our sister business CQ Computing Solutions handles managed IT services for Central Queensland businesses.

Cloudflare or Vercel: how do you choose?+

It depends on the project. Cloudflare Pages/Workers/R2 suits sites that benefit from edge-first architecture and low-cost storage; Vercel suits Next.js projects where its deployment pipeline is the smoothest fit. We choose based on what performs best for what's actually been built, not a fixed default.

Can you host a site you didn't build?+

Sometimes, it depends on what it's built with. If it's a compatible modern stack, migrating hosting is usually straightforward. If it's on an old platform tightly coupled to its current host, a rebuild is often the more practical path, and we'll say so rather than force a migration that won't hold up.

What happens if the site goes down?+

We monitor uptime and performance and respond if something's wrong on the hosting side. The exact response arrangement (how fast, how it's scoped) is set out as part of the support plan, since it varies by project.

Do I need to understand Cloudflare or Vercel myself?+

No. We manage the hosting configuration and deployment pipeline; you get a working site and, if you want it, visibility into performance. You don't need to become an infrastructure expert to have your site hosted properly.

What does hosting cost, and is it a one-off or ongoing?+

It's ongoing, since hosting, monitoring and SSL renewal are continuous, not a one-time setup fee. The actual cost depends on the platform and traffic the project needs. We set it out plainly as part of the quote rather than folding it into an unclear line item.
