SaaS Development, End to End

SaaS is a different kind of build to a website or a single web application. It's a product other businesses will pay to use, which means authentication, billing, multi-tenancy and uptime aren't optional extras, they're the product. Echo Technology builds SaaS end to end, from first spec through to a live, paying-customer product.

We don't just advise on this: we build our own. EchoTrace (NFC-based asset tracking), ECHOSYNC (a mobile field-service app), Warden (an AI remediation agent) and ePanel (a custom CMS and dashboard platform) are in-house products built on the same stack and the same discipline we bring to client work. Building and running our own SaaS means we've dealt with the billing edge case, the tenant-isolation bug and the migration that has to happen with zero downtime, before it shows up in your product.

That in-house experience carries into client work directly: CQ Computing Solutions, a managed IT services business, is one example of the same technical standards applied to a real operating company rather than a case study.

01 /Who It's For

This is for founders and businesses with a product idea that needs to become real software: multi-tenant from day one, not retrofitted once the first big customer asks for it. It also suits an existing business that's outgrown a manual process and wants to package it as a product, internally or for customers, including teams whose current "product" is actually a shared spreadsheet with a login screen bolted on the front.

If you need someone who understands the full SaaS lifecycle (auth, billing, tenant isolation, scaling) and not just a front-end build, this is that.

02 /What You Get

  • Multi-tenant architecture designed correctly from the start, not patched in after your first enterprise customer asks for it
  • Authentication and user management, including team/organisation accounts where relevant
  • Billing and subscription handling wired to a real payment provider
  • An admin/ops view so you can actually see what's happening across your customer base
  • API design if the product needs to integrate with other systems
  • Infrastructure set up to scale: the goal is a product that doesn't need a rebuild at 100 customers
  • A clear handover of what's been built, so you're not dependent on us to understand your own product
  • Ongoing development capacity as the roadmap evolves post-launch

03 /How We Work

Discovery is where we pressure-test the idea into a real spec: what the MVP actually needs versus what can wait. Design covers both the product UX and the underlying data model, because getting multi-tenancy and permissions wrong early is expensive to fix later. Build ships in stages towards a usable MVP, not one long build with nothing to test until the end. Launch means a real go-live with paying or pilot customers, not just a demo. Support continues post-launch, because SaaS products keep needing work long after version one. That's the nature of a living product, not a one-off project.

04 /Common Questions

Do you build the MVP, or do we need our own developers first?+

We build the MVP from spec through to launch. Some clients bring in-house developers on after launch to extend it; others keep us on for ongoing development. Either works: we hand over a codebase that's documented enough for either path.

What happens to billing and subscriptions, do you build that from scratch?+

No, we integrate a proven payment/subscription provider rather than building billing logic from zero. That's not where your product's differentiation should live, and building it yourself is a solved-problem trap.

Is multi-tenancy something you add later, or does it need to be there from the start?+

It needs to be architected in from the start. Retrofitting proper tenant isolation into a single-tenant build is a rebuild, not an upgrade. This is one of the most common expensive mistakes in early SaaS builds, and it's why we design for it in discovery even for a small MVP.

Do you have experience running SaaS products, not just building them?+

Yes, EchoTrace, ECHOSYNC, Warden and ePanel are our own products, built and operated on the same infrastructure decisions we bring to client work. That's a different perspective to an agency that's only ever handed a build over and walked away.

How much does SaaS development cost?+

It varies enormously by scope, which is exactly why we don't publish a number. You'll get a fixed quote once discovery has scoped the actual MVP, not a headline figure that doesn't survive contact with your real requirements.

How do you keep one customer's data separate from another's in a multi-tenant product?+

Tenant isolation is designed into the data model and access layer from the first architecture decision, not added as a filter later. Exactly how (shared database with strict row-level scoping, or separated per tenant) depends on your compliance needs and scale, and gets decided explicitly in discovery rather than defaulted to whatever is quickest to ship.
